In this role, you will develop an integrated platform centered around Odoo that interacts with other services via REST APIs and Apache Kafka. You will work with Python and the Odoo API, as well as Java/Spring on the backend and React on the frontend—all running in a containerized environment using Docker and Kubernetes.
You will develop and customize Odoo modules, integrate external systems, and ensure that real-world business processes—from accounting to inventory to procurement—are accurately mapped. Your profile
- Several years of experience in Odoo development (backend/web/POS)
- Proficiency in Python 3 and the Odoo API, as well as in Java and Spring (including Hibernate)
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS
- Experience in front-end development with React
- Experience integrating REST and XML-RPC interfaces
- Experience with Apache Kafka (event streaming / asynchronous integration)
- Experience with test automation (e.g., unittest2, QUnit)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of business processes (e.g., accounting, inventory, purchasing)
- An independent, structured, and agile approach to work (Scrum, CI/CD)
- Excellent German language skills (minimum B2/C1 level, required), good English language skills
Your tasks
- Development and customization of Odoo modules (Python 3, XML, HTML)
- Development of backend services using Java/Spring and Hibernate
- Integration of external systems using REST and XML-RPC APIs, as well as event-driven integration via Apache Kafka
- Developing modern front-end components with React
- Operation and further development of applications in a containerized environment (Docker, Kubernetes, private cloud)
- Optimization and further development of existing Odoo features
- Design and execution of unit and integration tests
- Technical analysis of business processes in collaboration with our consultants
- Documentation of requirements, specifications, and developments
- Assistance with data migrations and updates to new Odoo versions
