We are looking for an experienced network engineer for an established, internationally active IT environment who will take responsibility for complex customer infrastructures and take them to the next level. In this role, you will be responsible for modern LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments with a clear focus on network security. You are confident working with security-critical infrastructures, particularly in the Fortinet environment, and combine in-depth engineering experience with structured troubleshooting and professional change management.

Your profile
- Several years of practical experience in network security and infrastructure in complex IT environments
- In-depth expertise in working with firewalls, routers, and switches
- Proven experience in engineering and troubleshooting FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP
- Confident handling of the operation and security of business-critical network infrastructures
- Structured approach to incident analysis and sustainable problem solving
- Experience in change management in security-critical environments
- Fluent German (C1) and good English skills (at least B2)
- Valid Class B driver's license
Nice to have:
- Completed IT-related studies (e.g., IT specialist for system integration)
- Experience with manufacturers such as Cisco or Juniper
- Knowledge of FortiManager and/or FortiAnalyzer

Your tasks
- Analysis of customer requirements in the area of LAN, WAN, VLAN, WLAN, and VPN infrastructures
- Designing secure and scalable network architectures in line with business requirements
- Implementation, administration, and continuous optimization of network and security infrastructures
- Planning, coordination, and implementation of changes in security-critical environments (e.g., firewalls, access solutions)
- Development and advancement of network security solutions in the Fortinet environment
- Performing structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis in the event of an incident
- Ensuring operational stability through regular updates, patch management, and security monitoring
- Proactive response to security-related events and implementation of appropriate countermeasures
- Continuous improvement of network performance, resilience, and security standards
