Junior PEGA Developer

We are looking for motivated junior PEGA developers to join a major, long-term project for a German client. The project runs on a modern low-code platform, where we automate complex business processes and build scalable, reusable components.

The role offers a stable, multi-year career path, a flexible international work environment, and a team genuinely committed to professional growth.

This isn't your typical "entry-level position with limited, low-impact tasks"—here, you'll be building real production systems used by end clients, with meaningful responsibility from day one and active mentoring from senior colleagues.

Prior knowledge of PEGA is not required: we begin with a structured internal training program, which includes preparation for official PEGA certifications.

If you're looking for a technology with high market demand, a relatively small pool of experts, and a clear path from junior developer to internationally sought-after senior architect within a few years, this role is designed specifically for that career path.

Your profile

We are looking for a junior developer with a strong foundation in software engineering, a genuine curiosity about the low-code world, and the motivation to gain in-depth knowledge of a new platform.

Several of the following points should apply to you:

  • 0–3 years of development experience (including internships, entry-level positions, or first full-time roles). PEGA experience is not required —entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.
  • A strong foundation in programming with an object-oriented mindset (Java, C#, Python, or similar), whether acquired at university, through formal training, or during early professional experience.
  • Nice to have, but not required: experience with any low-code/no-code, BPM, RPA, or automation platform (e.g., Camunda, Appian, OutSystems, Mendix, UiPath, Power Automate, ServiceNow, Bizagi).
  • Basic knowledge of web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST API concepts.
  • Basic database knowledge, including SQL queries and fundamental data modeling concepts.
  • A strong commitment to learning, with a willingness to master new technologies and methodologies and pursue certifications.
  • An agile mindset, with experience or an interest in team-based work, a culture of code review, shared ownership of delivery, and familiarity with Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Strong German language skills (B2–C1), both spoken and written, as a significant portion of project communication takes place in German.
  • Confident English communication skills (B2+) for team collaboration and technical documentation.
  • A degree in IT, engineering, or another related technical field (BSc/MSc) is considered a plus, but not a requirement—relevant experience and the right developer mindset are more important.

Your tasks

As a Junior PEGA Developer joining our team, you will gradually take on the following responsibilities—initially with guidance from a mentor, and then with increasing autonomy as you gain experience:

  • PEGA Low-Code Application Development: Modeling and Implementing Case Types, Workflows, and Business Processes on the PEGA Platform.
  • Building reusable components: developing functional modules that can be used across multiple applications — a key strategic element of this project.
  • UI development: designing and implementing user interfaces using the PEGA Constellation framework to create modern, accessible applications.
  • Integration development: implementing REST APIs, integrating with external systems, and establishing data connections.
  • Testing and quality assurance: writing unit tests, fixing bugs, and actively participating in code reviews.
  • Active participation in agile ceremonies: contributing meaningfully to daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and demos—not just attending them.
  • Internal training and certification: completing the PEGA Certified System Architect (CSA) certification during the onboarding phase, fully funded by the company, with dedicated time provided for preparation.
  • Documentation writing: preparing functional and technical documentation related to the components and solutions you develop.
  • Receiving mentoring: participating in regular knowledge-sharing sessions with senior PEGA developers and architects, supported by an individual professional development plan.
